The Turban as a Beach Accessory and a Fashion Statement

The turban has been used as a functional beach wardrobe accessory as well as a fashion statement throughout history. I have a revitalized interest in the turban now that my hair is cut short like a 1920's bob. And I am starting to see them in fashion magazines as part of the new look combined with bohemian gypsy layered fabrics, harem pants and wild animal prints.

Here are a few fashion images and illustrations showing how the turban can be used at the beach or in the spring, summer, fall or winter as a wardrobe accessory. Add a rhinestone clip or a small baubble for even more interest. And if you can't find one you like you can always make one from a vintage pattern.
