The Cape-able Swimsuit

'Practical in her 3 in 1 lastex tomboy'. This ad from Lee Beachwear is from 1959. The skirt can be removed and is cape-able. I think it's absolutely brilliant! This was available in black, turquoise or red with white. Cost in 1959, a mere $13.00. I'll take all 3! For a pale face like me I need something like this even with sunscreen, this little cape would be a fabulous option for a cover up after about an hour in the sun when I don't have my beach umbrella or parasol. Really, now I'm on the lookout. More often than not though I don't find many sets like this that are still intact with the original pieces. Somehow they get separated, lost in the sea of time. But a gal can hope....
