Recently while out doing my errands I found myself in a waiting room with some old Vogue magazines. This photograph popped out at me as I hadn't seen this particular piece before. It's by one of our favorite photographers, Toni Frissell.

I've always been enamoured with her underwater photography work and this piece is no exception. Toni actually took up photography as a form of therapy after her brother, who was a documentary filmmaker, disappeared at sea.

In this Toni Frissell photograph, a model swims with dolphins underwater in a water tank. She wears a striped, crinkled one-piece swimsuit by Brest. The playful image appeared in the January 1, 1939, Vogue.

The "Woman in water" photo is one of my all time favorites. I just can't stop looking at it. Has she drowned herself from sadness? Or is she happily floating around in the water? Guess we'll never know...
