Hooded Swimsuit circa 1965
Lovely hooded swimsuit from 1965. Wish this was in color so I could see it better. I've always adored this look, a swimsuit with a hood. How about you?

Resort wear for 1959
1959 Resort Wear - yes, lets bring back this look, so glamorous and refined, classy and elegant! A little bit Spanish influenced with the colors, and I adore that high waist straight leg with three quarter sleeves and a sash waist. Now, don't forget your pearls!

Gantner of California Water Loving Cottons
This advertisement from Gantner of California hails to 1953 and I just love the play on words in the text and titles. How about 'Sea Tweed' and 'Gingham Girl' with a bust ruffle? And doesn't she look just a wee bit like Doris Day? We've got a few Gantners over at Glamoursurf, come on by and have a look.

1960 - Sweet as Sugar in Stripes
Love this swimsuit from 1960. Stripes are always welcome in my closet, but no thanks to the artificial sweetener Sucaryl. I just did some minor research to see if it was still being produced, but no, not in the United States. You can however find it in other countries. I don't use much sugar, but I use real organic sugar when I do use it. All of these artificial sweeteners make me cringe. But back to the suit, love the stripes and it fits her so beautifully, don't you think? One of the advantages of authentic vintage swimwear is accentuating your curves in a sexy but modest way.

The Old Paired with the New in Swimwear
This image illustration is from 1930. I've always been amused by this sort of flaunting imagery from the past.
Here's another press photo with pretty girls showing off the old and the new.
An finally this one, from 1945. The suit in the middle is from 1917 while the one on the left is prior to the 1900s. And that gorgeous two piece on the right is from 1945. I'd love to model a pin up shoot like this with suits ranging in time, wouldn't that be fun?
