Today's inspiration comes from
Marcel Vertes, Hungarian born fashion designer and fashion illustrator (10 August 1895 – 31 October 1961). He and Schiaparelli won the British Academy Film Award in 1952 for best costume design for the film
Moulin Rouge.
1943 Schiaparelli Shocking Stocking
1943 Hattie Carnegie Hooded by Night in a Pelerine - had to look that one up. Pelerine:
a woman's narrow cape made of fabric or fur and usually with long ends hanging down in front.
1943 Lilly Dache - Hooded by day in an airmans helmet hood in beaver cloth, lined in black wool
1949 Vogue Cover
1940 Harper's Bazaar Cover
This is just a small sampling of his work as illustrator, a very prolific and prominent artist/designer in his own right. Hope you enjoy!
